Help a Member Welcome Their First Newcomer
Help a teammate practise an introduction and take the lead when their own newcomer joins.
Once a member understands the basics, you can help them share the same information with someone they know. This is where a team begins to develop another person who can explain the process and offer support.
I would start by asking who might want to learn about NMB MATCH. A friend or family member may be easier to talk with because there is already a relationship. Choose someone who is willing to hear the explanation and has time to understand it.
The first message can be very ordinary. Your member might say, “I have been learning how NMB MATCH works. Would you like me to send you the beginner guide? You can read it and decide whether it interests you.” Let the conversation develop from the reply.
Before that conversation, ask your member to explain the basics to you. They should be able to describe the activity, show where the current rules are, and say where to get help. If they are unsure about an answer, look it up together before sharing it.
When their newcomer joins, let your member lead the welcome. They can show the guide, ask what the person understands, and help with one step at a time. You can remain available for questions that need more explanation.
Gradually, your member should be able to handle that same welcome on their own. A shared guide and a few clear examples can help the explanation stay consistent as more people become involved.
After they try their first introduction, ask how the conversation went and what they would explain differently next time. You can improve the shared guide together. A useful place to begin is one practice conversation with a member who feels ready to help someone else.
